02.11.2011– Hong Kong - Kunekt (OTCBB: KNKT) put out its first major piece of news today with the announcement its first acquisition of 100% of Hong Kong-based AMS-INT ASIA LTD.
With this one acquisition, Kunekt is acquiring two key assets. The first asset is Guangzhou Xingwei Communications Technology Ltd. Inc, a mobile phone design company. The second asset is Bejing Yiyueqiji Science and Technology Development, an Android smartphone design company. The two companies have been in operation since 2004 and 2009 respectively.
With approximately 60 employees, the combined entity will leverage its extensive experience, contacts and customers in China, India and various Southeastern Asian markets while providing Kunekt with immediate operational scale. The joining of these groups will furnish Kunekt with a complete design team for mobile phones, smartphones and tablets thereby allowing the company full control over the design, manufacturing and distribution of its mobile device products.
Upon the closing of acquisitions, current Kunekt president, Mark Bruk, will become Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of Kunekt in conjunction with Mr. Matt Li. Matt Li will become the Company’s President. Current AMS president, Mr. Li brings to Kunekt extensive experience in the network, telecom and wireless industries. Mr. Li has held engineering and management positions at Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO), UB Video, Motorola (NYSE: MOT), Abatis Systems and ANV Systems.
Kunekt is targeting aggressive and expeditious growth as it takes full advantage of the communications revolution that is underway. In Kunekt-targeted markets the ubiquitous desire to own a smartphone, is not on par with their affordability. Kunekt is positioning itself to bridge this gap by becoming a global brand that consumers can both rely on and more readily afford. Last week the company announced that it will begin selling product in China in February followed by India, and other emerging markets soon thereafter.
Kunekt designs, builds and markets mobile phones, smartphones and tablets powered by Google’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android mobile operating system. The Company’s mission is to build a globally recognized brand in the mobile device market while delivering smartphones and tablets at price points significantly below those of industry leaders.
